The IT Field: Network Security

Network security specialists plan, coordinate, and implement an organization’s information security and security systems. Security specialists educate users on computer security, install security software, monitor the network for security breaches, respond to cyber attacks, and gather data and evidence. They install, configure, and manage firewall devices in an effort to provide a higher level of protection. Network security specialists are also responsible for developing security policies and procedures and for the physical security of the data network.
